1QB vs Superflex — How Player Values Shift Between Formats

2026-05-28

One of the most common dynasty mistakes is valuing a player from the wrong format's board. A trade that looks like a fleece in 1QB can be perfectly fair in Superflex, because the two formats price the same players very differently. If you trade across leagues — or just read rankings that don't match your settings — this is where money leaks.

Quarterbacks are the whole story. In 1QB, you start one passer, so quarterback is shallow-value: even good ones sit on benches and only the truly elite carry premium dynasty value. Flip to Superflex and the position inverts — now 24 quarterbacks are startable in a 12-team league, the supply is thin, and startable passers leap up the board. A mid-tier quarterback who's a bench afterthought in 1QB can be a genuine asset in Superflex.

Skill players move the other way — slightly. Because Superflex pours so much value into quarterbacks, the relative value of running backs, receivers, and tight ends compresses a little. They're still the core of your roster, but a star receiver who's the clear 1.01 in a 1QB startup might slide behind two or three quarterbacks in Superflex. Same player, same talent — the format just reweights the board.

What this means for trades:

See the gap directly. Our rankings break out 1QB and Superflex as separate boards, and every player page shows both values side by side. The size of the spread on quarterbacks is often eye-opening the first time you line them up.

TE-premium adds a third dimension. If your league is Superflex *and* TE-premium, tight ends get their own boost on top of everything above — which is why we keep a dedicated SF TE-premium board. The more your format diverges from vanilla 1QB, the more it matters that you're reading the right one.

The takeaway is simple but easy to forget in the heat of a trade: a player doesn't have one dynasty value, he has one per format. Anchor to the board that matches your league, pay special attention to where quarterbacks land, and you'll stop mispricing the exact assets your leaguemates misprice too.
