1QB vs Superflex — How Player Values Shift Between Formats

One of the most common dynasty mistakes is valuing a player from the wrong format's board. A trade that looks like a fleece in 1QB can be perfectly fair in Superflex, because the two formats price the same players very differently. If you trade across leagues — or just read rankings that don't match your settings — this is where money leaks.
Quarterbacks are the whole story. In 1QB, you start one passer, so quarterback is shallow-value: even good ones sit on benches and only the truly elite carry premium dynasty value. Flip to Superflex and the position inverts — now 24 quarterbacks are startable in a 12-team league, the supply is thin, and startable passers leap up the board. A mid-tier quarterback who's a bench afterthought in 1QB can be a genuine asset in Superflex.
Skill players move the other way — slightly. Because Superflex pours so much value into quarterbacks, the relative value of running backs, receivers, and tight ends compresses a little. They're still the core of your roster, but a star receiver who's the clear 1.01 in a 1QB startup might slide behind two or three quarterbacks in Superflex. Same player, same talent — the format just reweights the board.
What this means for trades:
- When you acquire a quarterback, check the Superflex value, not the 1QB one — that gap is exactly what an unaware leaguemate will misprice.
- When you trade away skill players for a quarterback in Superflex, don't anchor to their 1QB value; you may be giving up less than you think relative to the format.
- Never evaluate a Superflex trade on a 1QB ranking, or vice versa.
