How to Tell If You're a Contender or a Rebuilder

Most dynasty mistakes come from misreading your own window. You trade like a contender while your roster is actually a year away, or you sell youth chasing a title you can't win.

Dynasty Cheat Code classifies every team into one of eight directions using league-relative value — your starters and picks are measured against your specific league, not a generic ranking. The three numbers that matter most:

• Starter value percentile — how good your weekly lineup is *right now*.
• Pick + young-core value — how much future you're sitting on.
• Average age — whether your window is opening or closing.

If your starters rank top-3 and your roster isn't old, you're a contender: buy production, spend distant picks. If you're heavy on picks and light on lineup, you're rebuilding: sell aging veterans before they depreciate and stack youth. The dangerous middle — "fringe contender" — is where one or two targeted moves swing your whole season.
