How the engine values WR
Wide receivers age more gracefully than running backs. The peak window sits around age 25, with milder decay than backs or tight ends. That is why a productive late-twenty-something receiver can remain a hold while a same-age back is already on the wrong side of the curve.
Production blends points per game with usage — target, route, and snap shares — normalized so a full-role receiver scores like a starter rather than being compared on raw denominators against other positions. Alpha receiver roles score highest on role security; WR2 and deeper slots step down. Pedigree fades as real seasons accumulate, and strong production can supersede a low draft slot faster than one quiet year can bury a high one.
Opportunity looks at vacated pass volume on a team and hands a front-loaded share to the receivers positioned to claim it. Unproven players still take a discount so draft capital alone cannot leapfrog proven producers. Superflex barely changes receiver prices; deeper lineups raise the floor of rotational receivers, while shallow lineups concentrate value in elites.
Receivers are often the glue in both contend and rebuild plans: young proven ones hold rebuild score; high-production alphas hold win-now score. Read the call badge as outlook on our value, then check whether the player fits the window your league import assigned.
