How to read the DCC verdict
“Verdict” on Dynasty Cheat Code covers two related reads: the player call (Bullish / Neutral / Bearish) and the team direction after a league import (Contender, Rebuilder, and the labels in between). Both come from the site’s own model. Displayed values come from Dynasty Cheat Code's own market-aware model. We do not sell or republish consensus ranks. Neither is a claim that a third-party price chart is wrong.
Player calls are a directional outlook
The Python engine decides BUY, SELL, or HOLD from the player’s own profile — age versus a position peak, role security, upside, and risk — plus an elite-asset floor so cornerstone pieces are not slapped with a blunt sell. The display layer maps those engine calls to Bullish, Neutral, and Bearish. It does not re-derive the call from a market gap. There is no consensus price feed in the branching logic.
Bullish means we expect that player’s dynasty value to rise from here. Bearish means we expect it to fall. Neutral means no forced move either way. Elite assets at or above the engine’s elite floor are never Bearish — disagreement shows up as Neutral instead. Format-aware elite guard also applies: a top-of-board Superflex quarterback whose 1QB base looks modest is still protected in Superflex.
Deep roster filler can be quarantined from SEO buy lists and split into a stash-style hold when value sits in the bottom of the board. That keeps dart-throw names from crowding the featured buys. Practical reading guide: how to use a buy/sell call.
Flavor is targeting, not a second grade
Behind a Bullish call, the verdict layer may assign an internal flavor such as Rebuilder Buy, Contender Buy, or Value Buy. Youth relative to position cutoffs points rebuilders; strong production points contenders; everything else is value. Badges stay simple on purpose — Bullish / Neutral / Bearish — so the UI does not invent five shades of certainty the engine did not earn.
Window toggles on the buy / sell / hold board reorder who is featured for contenders versus rebuilders. The underlying call does not flip when you change the lens. Contender view and rebuilder view are sorting aids, not new math.
Team direction is a different object
After league import, each roster gets a direction label from league-relative percentiles — Elite Contender through Deep Rebuild, including Win-Now Fragile Contender, Retool, and Productive Struggle. That label is about your roster construction versus the other eleven (or however many) teams, not about whether a single player is Bullish.
Confidence on the team verdict is the distance to the nearest classification boundary. High confidence means the roster sits comfortably inside a band. Low confidence means a few starter or pick moves could change the label. Read the explanation sentence and the ranked strengths / weaknesses before you tear down or go all-in.

What a verdict never claims
It does not claim we beat last year’s points. On the published walk-forward, last-season PPG correlates at 0.660 and DCC value at 0.601. We publish that on /track-record because it is true. Buy/sell still showed signal among high-level producers in that research, but those samples are small — do not treat a deep-bench Neutral as the same evidence as a call on a locked-in starter.
It also does not claim independence from league settings. The same player can be a hold in 1QB and a cornerstone in Superflex. Always read the format stamp on the page. Value construction details: methodology and trade value basics.
A simple checklist
One: confirm the format stamp. Two: if you have imported a league, read team direction and confidence before you force a player call. Three: treat Bullish / Bearish as a second question after fit. Four: ignore deep-board noise when the track record says the sample is thin. Five: when the calculator and the window disagree, the window usually wins for multi-year process — fair value is not the same as the right process trade.
